Ernest Smith : : Velocity Pastor
Ernest
was born in Charleston, SC, but lived in Athens and Conyers, GA, for 11 years. After moving back before his ninth grade year in high school, Ernest started attending Seacoast Church. Ten months after his first experience with Seacoast, Ernest chose to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. That summer he went on a mission trip to Panama and there received his calling to be a pastor. He chose to go to Charleston Southern University and major in Youth Ministry. While in college, Ernest met Sara, and they have been married for four and a half years. They have two “kids,” Juliet (an 8-year-old Boston Terrier) and Sullivan (a 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier). Ernest has been the Student Ministry Pastor at Seacoast Church since 2004 but has been on staff or volunteering in Student Ministry since 1998.
Mel Alm : : Velocity Logistics Coordinator
Mel was born and raised on a farm in ND. She moved to Charleston in 1998 to pursue a graduate degree in Marine Biology. After completing her Master’s, she eventually figured out she was called to ministry and has a passion for teens. Mel has been on staff in Student Ministry at Seacoast since July, 2003. Mel’s passion lies in seeing people grow – through small groups, through serving, through mission trips, through whatever God asks her to do.
Curt Hiott : : Velocity Program Coordinator
Curt was born in Charleston SC. He lived in Greenville, SC, for nine years before moving back to Mt. Pleasant in 1999. Curt has been attending Seacoast for eight years and has been on staff for two. Curt felt God’s calling on his life to go into full time ministry when he was a senior in high school. He has a passion for leading others into God’s presence. |
